i2Cool is a technology start-up company incubated by the HK Tech 300 Program at City University of Hong Kong and Incubation Program at Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. The team has successfully developed the world's leading passive radiative cooling paint with zero energy consumption. The Electricity-free Cooling Paint is the first commercial product of i2Cool, officially launched to the market in September 2022. The paint is used as a cooling source from the universe and achieves cooling effects below ambient temperature through efficient solar reflection and mid-infrared emission.

Electricity-free Cooling Technology

Working Principle

Since the Earth’s atmosphere is transparent to mid-infrared radiation, the heat emitted by the cooler can pass through the atmosphere and be absorbed by the cold outer space. By covering the roof or exterior walls with the cooling product, the effect of “electricity-free cooling” can be achieved without energy input or refrigerant.
